Candy - you're a smart cookie. I particularly appreciate your insights now while I undergo relationship withdrawal. โค๏ธ And your cute little Mama's a Beer Girl, love it!!!
Tears rolling down my face. I love you and believe in you. You have always been so delightful. The blonde ang el baby with giant blue eyes who could speak in sentences at 18 months and wrote letters to Grandma at three years old. The girl who hated being jostled about in busy school halls, who would call from the school office to be rescued. The secretary animaredly telling her, she could not leave, as her big eyes rolled and you silently said watch me. The girl who tested at 2nd year university level at high school graduation after a homemade homeschool childhood education of running businesses and my cockamamie schemes. You my โค๏ธ love can do anything. You dance to your own tune. All three of you children have strongly marched forward in life, blazing a trail through brambleberries and roses. I love you so much.
I love you mama! You have shown us the value of marching to our own drum, finding the best part of every situation, loving fully and wholeheartedly even when it hurts, and most of all โฆ to just keep marching forward. No matter what. We love you and we all owe you every thing โฅ๏ธ
This is fantastic. Relatable and just so... Human.
My dad used to say that happiness was in the simple things, and that everyone has the right to pursue happiness in their life. Sounds to me like you're on the right track.
I think you captured something a lot of people struggle to explain โ that โchoosing happinessโ isnโt about flipping a switch or ignoring whatโs hard. Itโs something much quieter than that. Sometimes itโs just noticing one small thing, then another, and slowly finding your way back.
Iโm really proud of you for how you spoke about that season of your life. The honesty, the anger, the way you didnโt try to clean it up or make it sound easier than it was. That takes courage.
And the way you described your mom shifted something too. Itโs not that sheโs always been happy, itโs that she learned how to look for it. That perspective feels different.
Also your list of what makes you happyโฆ itโs simple in the best way. Real life, real moments. The kind that actually matter.
You might feel like you havenโt met the new version of you yet, but reading this, it really feels like youโre already becoming her.
Relatable on so many levels. Insanely beautiful writing. Iโm sad there isnโt a lighthouse emoji ๐จ
This makes me so happy hearing it from you, my girl! ๐ There needs to be an emoji suggestion box for real!

Ian, thank you my friend! I appreciate you taking the time to read โฅ๏ธ I think your Dad had the right idea.
And he had the five children with three different women to prove it ๐
In all seriousness, he was an interesting fellow for sure. Hippy, hitchhiker, sailor, lumberjack, cowboy... Just hard to pin down lol
He sounds like my kinda guy! Was he a Libra? Sometimes we confuse happiness with being in love ๐
An Aquarius, actually!
Are you a Libra? If so, we are Zodiac neighbours. โ
I am! Some of my best friends are Virgos โ๏ธ ๐ฅณ
If you are into the extended stuff, I am a Virgo Sun, Leo Moon, Leo Rising. Or so the birth chart said ๐คท๐ป
Happiness = this.
Happiness = you โฅ๏ธ
Noooooooooooo stppppp ๐ซถ๐ซถ๐ซถ
The littlest glimmers don't always light the way, but shit does it feel good to know there's something daring to twinkle out there. Thanks for this.
Yes! Sometimes a flicker, a glimmer, a glimpse is all it takes to keep going. Thank you for reading my friend. โฅ๏ธ
Thank you for writing. โจ

Anna, this made me tear up. Thank you for reading, responding, and seeing me exactly where I am.
You are truly one of a kind. Thank you for always being a safe place to land. โฅ๏ธ
