Tears rolling down my face. I love you and believe in you. You have always been so delightful. The blonde ang el baby with giant blue eyes who could speak in sentences at 18 months and wrote letters to Grandma at three years old. The girl who hated being jostled about in busy school halls, who would call from the school office to be rescued. The secretary animaredly telling her, she could not leave, as her big eyes rolled and you silently said watch me. The girl who tested at 2nd year university level at high school graduation after a homemade homeschool childhood education of running businesses and my cockamamie schemes. You my ❤️ love can do anything. You dance to your own tune. All three of you children have strongly marched forward in life, blazing a trail through brambleberries and roses. I love you so much.

I think you captured something a lot of people struggle to explain — that “choosing happiness” isn’t about flipping a switch or ignoring what’s hard. It’s something much quieter than that. Sometimes it’s just noticing one small thing, then another, and slowly finding your way back.
I’m really proud of you for how you spoke about that season of your life. The honesty, the anger, the way you didn’t try to clean it up or make it sound easier than it was. That takes courage.
And the way you described your mom shifted something too. It’s not that she’s always been happy, it’s that she learned how to look for it. That perspective feels different.
